☀ Fine weather and being the final WEE in June, brought a strong field of runners out last night – about 80 participants (and a fox) enjoyed the challenge of navigating round Belvoir Park Forest and all the craic afterwards.
👏Firstly we need to thank all those involved in putting on the event, especially Fred Hammond who planned some challenging legs for us to talk about for a while and organiser, Mark Earnshaw. Others who supported the great evening were, Dan on registration/IT, Ric on downloads, Daphne on starts, mapper Bill with all the recent storm updates, control collectors Joe, Carol, Richard, Lyle and James and Geoffrey who sorts out all WEE results/league table.
🏆Talking of league tables, here are the prize winners for June:
Long course: 🥉James Ewart (M16) 295 points 🥈Dee Orwin (M70) 285 points 🥇Carol Black (W55) 272 points and additional Juniors Sam Graham (M18) 257 points and Nat Kerr (M14 ) 234 points.
Short course: 🥉Dylan Kennedy (M10) 298 points 🥈Luke Wilkins (M12) 292 points 🥇Nella Herman (W10) 285 points and additional Senior, Richard McCourt (M80) 297 points.
Winners of both the months of May and June – if you didn’t pick one up a prize, feel free to get in touch with Ric who can sort you out when he sees you next in August.
👏Well done everyone who participated in May or June, but I think a special mention needs to go to three juniors Nella Herman (W10), Chloe Campbell (W12) and Nat Kerr (M14) – who have just joined the club in past number of weeks and are already proving to be fine navigators and prize winners – mighty stuff 💪 The future looks good on the Junior front – thanks to all the Junior coaches!
