A WEE report from Lady Dixon

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธIt is great to see the WEE series continue to attract around 70 participants, with us all enjoying another warm and sunny evening running around lovely parkland.

๐Ÿ—บThank you to the planner this week Denis Murphy and to Aine McCann who helped on the day set out controls, possibly with Mark Earnshaw (sorry if I have got this wrong!) who was also coordinator for this evening.

๐Ÿ‘Again thanks to all who made the evening so enjoyable – Dan Earnshaw on the (registration, timing, IT), Mark and Aine (starts), Alan Gartside (map printing), James Earnshaw, Fred Hamond and Aine (control collection), Geoffrey Collins (results and league tables). Sharon (online entries), Moire (publicity). And probably others, sorry if I have missed anyone!

๐Ÿ†This was the third WEE in June, so with only one more event this month, things are heating up with this month’s handicap league! On the Long course, Lyle, Helen, Olivia and are still on top but being last month’s winners, we can look at those just behind them – Philip Baxter is in pole position (270 points), very closely followed by Carol Black and Geoffrey Collins (both on 267) with a number biting at their heels including our first Junior Chloe Campbell (W12) on 264 points. Jack Wilkins and James Ewart are also fighting it out to see who tops the Juniors. On the short course, Dylan Kennedy (293), Luke Wilkins (289) are in a close match for positions 1 and 2. 3rd place is being keenly fought by Nella Herman (188), Oonagh Reeve (188) and Hania Herman (185). Richard McCourt is our leading senior.

With the best three scores to count, there are a number of others in contention if they have a good run next week at Belvoir.

If we can do our calculations quickly, immediately after the Belvoir event this Wednesday, we hope to give out prizes for both the May and June series – so stick around to see who won and enjoy a cuppa and a bun.
