🧭 For our last Wednesday Evening Night Training activity of the year, we are in Ballymena for the first ever run on a brand new urban map of the town centre – thanks Stephen Gilmore.
🏃♀️ The difference about this activity is LVO are pitching themselves against the local running Club, Ballymena Runners – how will the speed and local knowledge of the runners compare with the nav skills of the orienteers – come along and find out! There should be plenty of friendly banter between all involved.
As it is coming up to Christmas, this will be more of a social, fun run, so feel free to run it in a pair. In fact I encourage you to!
📆 Wednesday 20 December.
⏰ Registration open 7.00 – 7.15pm. Briefing at 7.20pm for a 7.30pm mass start.
📍 Meeting at Ballymena Bowling Club where there is parking and toilets. Afterwards Ballymena Runners have invited us to stay afterwards for refreshments and to continue the debate about who performed best. There will be some prizes too – some earned and some not so. So, stay beg=hind for the craic.
📲 We will be using real controls and Si Timing, so bring a dibber if you have one (dibbers can be borrowed).
🔦 Bring a head torch, compass and Hi-Viz clothing (head torches and compasses can be lent out). If wet a waterproof jacket and if cold, layer up and a (Santa) hat and gloves may be comfortable.
💰 Entry is free for members, £3 for non-members.
❗ Note: This is an Urban course with road crossings so U16s must to be accompanied on the course by an adult. No dogs please – too busy an area.
