Yesterday evening an Exceptional General Meeting was held for all NI club members to consider the proposal to amend the membership structure and fees. This came about as a result of changes agreed by the British Orienteering membership at a recent AGM.
The following proposals were considered and agreed by representatives from all three NI clubs:
- Introduce a Young Adult membership category, up to age 25 years. This will replace student membership, up to age 20.
- Introduce part-year fees for new members (who have not been members previously for at least 4 years) with reduced fees when joining from 1 May and 1 September.
- Subject to the agreement of Fermanagh Orienteers, Lagan Valley Orienteers and North West Orienteering Club to set the NI Orienteering fees for 2024 as below:
