A WEE report on Bangor Castle

🤿 Where did all the lovely sunny Wednesday evenings go? Over 30 of us braved the biblical weather which welcomed us to Bangor this past Wednesday, certainly poor Alan the planner who was out all evening got a good soaking!

👋 Participants enjoyed fun courses with lots of changes in direction. This and good use of a central control on the long course kept us needing to keep our maps orientated on the exits from controls to have a clean run.

🥇🥈🥉 We now have people who have completed three June events and are sitting pretty at the top of the June series. But can they be toppled next week at Belvoir. Check the current standing on the handicap league table.

Long – Men: Lyle Fleming M60 is first on 300 points and confirmed overall first place for the month with a week to spare. But heating up for the other places! With a slip up from young James Ewart at the last control he has allowed Sid Green and Philip Baxter to leap frog him into second place, the two of them are all sitting on 279 points with lots of people sitting just behind them, ready to make a late move this Wednesday evening at Belvoir.

Long – Women: Helen Baxter is in first position going into the last event on 270 points (the same as Philip, no competition there then!). To add to the family rivalry, Olivia is the second placed female (273) followed by Sharon Dickenson (261).

Long Junior: Even after the error on Wednesday, James Ewart stays on top as 1st Junior on 197 points. Anastasia W18 is on 186 points and Jason Smith in third on 160 points both only completing two courses.

Short – Senior: Richard McCourt M80 (194) has moved to the top spot.

Short – Junior: Ellis Reeve W10 is still in 1st position with 195 points, followed by her sister Oonagh W10 who is on 191 points. Ewan Ewart (188) has moved to 3rd position, just in front on Finn Dawson.
