WEE 10 Stormont Report and August WEE League Update

⛱ Just back from my holidays and I will give myself credit for bringing some summer weather back with me for us all to “enjoy” at Stormont last night – what a scorcher!

👍 Well done and thank you to all who supported the event either through participation or volunteering with planning and organising.

👏 Special thanks to young, new planner Chris McClure, who used every inch of the map to squeeze every ounce of energy from our legs and breath of air from our lungs. Next time we use Stormont we will hopefully have an updated map which will be much easier to plan from, so well done Chris!

Thanks to coordinator Jane Wilson who put together a great team, so we could enjoy our run, I hope I have remembered you all – Mark, James, Daniel, Conor, Olivia, Brendy, Colin, Paul, Joe, Carol and Chris. Not forgetting Sharon in the background for sending SI files and Alan for printing maps.

🙁 Sorry I missed Botanic but I hear it was also a great success thanks to Janes’s team of volunteers and junior and first time planner Anastasia Mahlych. I’ve looked at the courses and would have loved to have been around to enjoy the run – next time!

So, after two events, (taking out the prize winners for the May and June WEEs) here are the present leaders of the August WEE Series:

Long course: Glen Richardson (37 points), Keith Dawson (34) and Daniel Earnshaw (31). Carrie Stewart (34), Gillian Wasson (33) and Cara Lavery (31). Juniors – Luke Gardiner (28), Hannah and Catherine Holland (10).

Short course: Liam Mangan (19 points). Rene Mullin (19). Juniors – Marcus Richardson (40 points), Harry Watt (37), Luke Richardson (29).

🤸‍♀️Plenty to play for with two more WEE events to go this month at Orangefield Park this coming Wednesday and Belvoir Park forest on Wednesday the 24th August. At Belvoir we plan to give out prizes to the winners of all three months of the WEE and enjoy a hotdog together – hope to see you these coming Wednesday evenings and remember it’s never too late to invite a friend along to introduce them to our great sport!
