WEE 5-Ballymena Academy Results

Congratulations everyone who took part in a great evening at Ballymena Academy – who would have thought going to school would be so much fun! πŸ˜ƒ

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ There were 81 participants in total running round the school grounds 38 of whom were juniors, with a good number of local school children. Thank you Diane McNeill of Ballymena Academy and Dom Baldwin of Dunclug who came along to support the young people of Ballymena Academy and Dunclug College. It was really encouraging to see such a good turn out for a venue on the periphery of LVO’s catchment area.

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ It is National Volunteer week so extra special thanks go to first time planner Peter Gamble, who managed to sit a GCSE exam in the morning, attend classes in the afternoon and play tennis after school before setting out the controls with his old man who is coordinating this months WEEs. A big thank you to organiser Henry Montgomery and the other super volunteers who made the event a success, Sharon Dickenson, Simon Gardiner, Richard Vasey, Sarah Gamble, Colin Smith, Alan Gartside and Mark Pruzina.

πŸ‘ƒ To draw on your route and have a nosey at other peoples routes look on Routegadget here. It will be particularly interesting to see what route choice people made from 7 to 8 on the Long Course. Going west round the main building is slightly shorter and a smoother way into the control.

Here are the standings of the June League (excluding the top three people from May who will already be prize winners):

Long Course

Juniors: Luke McCloskey, Adam Wharry and Robbie Mather.

Female: Stephanie Pruzina, Gillian Wasson and Sarah Gamble.

Male: Keith Dawson, Philip Johnston-Davis and Peter Reed.

Short Course

Juniors: Abi Vance, Penny Niblett and Daniel Mullan

Female: Elizabeth Dawson and Ruth Blair.

Male: No new leaders this month so far.

There are 3 more events this month, so all to play for!

Looking forward to seeing you all next week at Antrim Castle Gardens.
