🔭I said to look out for things to come – and already, here is a new MapRun course for us to have a go at and on the doorstep of our Tollymore Orienteers!
📱However, things will look a little different – the forest has been replaced with an Urban course in Newcastle and the dibbers and control boxes have been replaced with the MapRunF phone app.
👨👩👧👦Once you have downloaded the MapRunF app, this course can be done at anytime you wish in the month of July. However, I suggest avoid busy times, as bumping into seasonal tourists or locals is not recommended!
🚗Also, as it is an urban course, there are streets to cross and road traffic to be aware of, so U16’s need to be accompanied by an adult.
⏱❌The course is set up as a Scatter course. It has been set up so there is no time limit on completing the course or you can choose to visit as many controls or as few as you wish.
⏱✔If feeling competitive visit them all as quickly as you can!🏃♂️🏃♀️

We are learning more about MapRun and it’s amazing capability with each course we plan and the feed back we get – so please keep letting us know how you are getting on!
This time the scatter course has been set up so there is no time limit AND if you wish to visit all the controls you can or if you miss out a few or only only wish to visit 1 control that’s fine too.
This set up will hopefully suit competitive orienteers sprinting round the whole course, families walking round with small children, stopping for ice-cream and wanting to skip a few out and everyone in between.
Enjoy when you want and how you want!
I think on the scatter course you have to visit all the controls but in any order. We had some family failures in Holywood scatter because of leaving out a control.
