Orchard County Orienteers present : OCOUL 2019
What is it??
NI’s first Urban Orienteering League:
7 races, 7 different maps, 5 scores to count, all in the ABC area.
The format – Middle Distance Urban – no nettles or brambles ( unless you seek them out ), little mud, and you can show off your legs if you wish.
Courses:
3 different classes: 12 & under, under 16’s, and Open, each split M/F with age class adjusted results so everyone starts on a level playing field.
Scoring:
Times will be adjusted per age class. Points will then be awarded according to how close you get to the optimum time, with 1000 being the maximum.
Then additional points will be awarded for the top ten: 25 for first, 18 for second, then 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, & 1 respectively, so that every second may count. These additional points will be doubled for the final event in the series.
Not having a great run? Don’t worry you might still be able to pick up bonus points: One mystery leg on each course will have 25 points on offer for the fastest legal time between controls.
Event fees:
With pre-registration, either by Facebook or website comment, messenger, or email up to one week before each event, stating name and course :
Adult : £ 7.00
Unwaged / student : £ 5.00
Under 18 : £ 3.00
Family ( 2 adults and 2 or more children each doing a course ) : £ 17.00
Entry on the day, dependent upon spare maps:
£ 1 surcharge per adult, unwaged / student, or child
£ 3 surcharge for family entries.
