WEE 3 – Craigavon Senior High School

And so to WEE 3 (Thanks to the Collins family for an enjoyable WEE 2). This year’s WEE summer excursion to Craigavon is to be held at Craigavon Senior High School and Edenvilla Park, Portadown, and not at Craigavon Lakes as some may have seen. A new area to most, and in keeping with this I’m going to be offering something new: In addition to the usual short and long courses, for those more experienced there will be an additional course (Course 3 if entering online). As we will be in the middle of our inaugural Sprint series I will be putting on an extra course to provide some additional practice / training on pictorial descriptions that will hopefully keep you on your toes and be a bit of fun as well. BOF Guidelines have gone out of the window, and you may need to watch out for Dummy controls. You have been warned. Hopefully we will also have Routegadget up and running at the MOO afterwards so that you can see if you have taken the most direct route.

Full event details can be found here, but registration is from 18.15 and courses close at 20.30pm.

COURSES: SHORT ( yellow ): 1.9km with 22 controls.
LONG ( orange / light green ): 3.5km with 28 controls. There will be written control descriptions on the back of the map and loose pictorial descriptions available at the MOO to help those who are looking to move up a class ( Hannah ).
SPRINT ( green ): 3.5km with 30 controls.

PLEASE NOTE: There are no toilets available at the venue before your run, so if necessary please make use of the ample facilities at the Craigavon Centre, Sainsburys, or Tesco stores, or go before you arrive.

FIRST TIMER? Ask for the “Newcomer Welcome”

THANKS: I’d like to say thanks to all those who have provided access for the event: Craigavon Senior High School for providing the main venue, SRC for allowing their grounds to be used and especially their architects, Noel Mitchell at ABC Council for keeping the Secret Garden open in to the evening, Portadown Ladies Hockey Club, and Portadown Tennis club. If you fancy giving tennis a go you can check them out here.

See you all Wednesday.
ENJOY!
