IntrO Champions

It has not proved possible to identify a suitable site for a Night TempO cluster alongside the final WENT on wed 16th so the results published after the PreO and TempO events at Hillsborough are the final standings for 2015.  Congratulations to Stephen Gilmore (PreO) and Frazer Howe (TempO) on usurping Declan McGrellis’s double champion standing from 2014.  The final standings can be viewed in the IntrO folder here.  Mind you, it wasn’t much of a usurp for Declan finished a very close second in both disciplines.

My thanks to the small posse of TrailO devotees for making my efforts worthwhile.  The biggest disappointment has been the lack of take-up by the wider membership; TrailO offers a splendid opportunity to practice your terrain-to-map relationships skills without the distraction of having to run or to be exhausted.

Over the 2 years of championship I have set 105 PreO controls, involving the placement of 295 kites, set up 93 TempO decisions, involving the placement of 97 kites, and tweaked 29 maps to reflect TrailO competition speed (stationary) instead of that of FootO (running?).  Time for a rest – there will be no IntrO activity in 2016.  There may still be PreO and TrailO championships but they’ll be standalone events – watch this space!
