Event Description

Join us for the 7th WEE and be part of the the fun in Carnfunnock!

That’s some start triangle!

Welcome: As well as club members, we welcome everyone including newcomers and especially the group of juniors from Ballymena schools who are using the June WEEs for an inter-school league –  best of luck everyone!

There will be someone available at registration to help newcomers with any questions or queries.

Terrain: The Park is packed full of exciting and unusual attractions to see and do, with over 191 hectares of mixed woodland, colourful gardens, and walking trails, with spectacular panoramic views of the Antrim Coast and North Channel. You are advised to wear full leg cover, especially on the long course.

Mixed parkland with great views!

Provisional course details:

Short 1.8km, 80m climb, 9 controls.

Long 3.5km, 150m climb, 11 controls.

Don’t let the relatively short distances fool you, these are the straight line distances between controls not the actual route you will be taking, so expect to add on 10-20%. This together with the climb should prove testing enough.

Parking: Free after 5.30pm

Facilities: There are toilet facilities nest to the shop. Dogs allowed.

Entry: Online entry is open until midnight on Sunday 12th. The first time you enter online you need to register with SiEntries (enter an email and a password) after which they will send you a link to log in and it should be straightforward. Don’t panic if you miss this deadline because ‘Entry on the day’ will be available at registration, but members will be charged the non-member rate.

Safety: Please be aware of, and be courteous to, other park users. Both the Short and the Long course may cross service roads, so be mindful of the traffic. The courses will close at 8:30 pm sharp, when the controls will start to be lifted in. If you are still out there at that time please stop your run and report to the finish and download so that we know you aren’t missing and you are not searching for something that isn’t there any more.

Do not attend if you have Covid or are displaying Covid symptoms and at the event keep good control measures such as hand hygiene and social distancing.

Wishing you all a fun run!
