| Overview | Junior Takeover – Club Scatter
Please come along on Saturday the 18th April and support the club Juniors who are putting on a scatter event in Belvoir Forest. The event is planned and run by the Next Generation Orienteers, in aid of… Coaching, Competing and Travelling as a Team Please consider making a donation to squad funds which you can do so via SI Entries when signing up. Or support the kit resale stall by buying or donating O-kit or other outdoor kit; And you can indulge in some home made cake and buns from our Tea / Coffee stall – please bring your own cup if possible. There will also be new LVO kit available to buy after the event. |

| Race Format | 20 controls are set out around the park. To complete the Long race, you need to collect just 19 of them – in any order you like but choosing one control to leave out. For the Medium you need to collect any 15 controls and for the Short 8 controls are required.
(There are no points associated with the controls and getting more controls than required is of no benefit.) There will be a mass start at 12:00 sharp and the first person back on each course is the winner. |

| Registration, Start and Finish | Race briefing at 11:30 beside registraton in the main forest car park. Followed by a 15 min walk en masse to the start. | ||||||||||||
| Price |
Sociable group / family fee where all are going round a course together – entry fee is per required number of maps – one entry = one map. There is no fee to hire an SI card if required, but lost cards are charged at £30. *Orienteering club members only. Avail of our reduced event rates by joining our club today: https://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/join_online **A family charge is for two seniors and one junior. Additional juniors go free. Please note: Participants who are not members of British Orienteering or of another orienteering federation are not covered by British Orienteering’s public liability insurance. You are welcome to enter this event, but please understand that you are taking part at your own risk. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered. Members of Orienteering Ireland are covered by British Orienteering insurance. |

| Course Notes | There are a total of 20 controls available to all 3 courses which can be visited in any order. Everyone starts at the same time. You sign up for Short, Medium or Long:
The first person back with the required number of controls for their course wins! N.B. You can collect more controls than required but there is no benefit. Nor is there any penalty. |

| First Aid and Safety | Watch out for other park users.
There will be a first aid and a qualified first aider available at registration. Registration is also a safe place for lost children to wait. Please do not come to the event if you are unwell.Please bring and carry any medication you might need, especially inhalers and EpiPen’s. If you come across an injured or ill person, please stop, help and get further help. There will likely be qualified first aiders on the course who can stop to provide support. All participants must return to download, whether they complete the course or not. This is to account for all competitors, ensuring everyone’s safe return. Courses will close and controls collected in at 3pm sharp. If you are still out on the course at this time return to finish and download immediately. |

| Kit requirements | Full body cover is mandatory.
A whistle (emergency alert is 6 loud blasts per minute) is mandatory. A waterproof jacket may also be mandatory if the organisers decide the weather requires one, so bring one along just in case. |
