Event Format | Coaching and Social. An introduction to Orienteering through exploring Queen’s Elms. Coach-led activities and a number of courses to try out. Activities for all levels of fitness and experience. Come along as a group, pair or just yourself. Go at your pace in your space. Everyone is welcome! | |

Notes/Courses | 👨👩👧👦 Newcomers to the sport will be provided with coaching and support with the different activities and courses. 🟡 There will be easy activities and courses with all controls mostly on linear features such as paths, walls and streams. Suitable for all newcomers who want a gentle introduction to orienteering. 🟠 There will also be some more challenging activities and courses ideal for novice orienteers who have some map/compass reading experience. |

Kit requirements | 🧥👖 Full body cover is recommended. If the weather is cold or wet – bring a waterproof jacket. As well as times of exercise there may be periods of coaching when you will be stationary, so layer up – if you wish, bring along a hat and gloves to keep comfortable.
There will be a bag drop off point with a coach present or close by. NOTE: the university, club or coach is not responsible for the safe keeping of the kit, it is dropped off at your own risk. Maps provided. Compasses and dibbers (electronic timing devices) are also available to borrow for free, however if lost there will be a the cost of replacement. |
