Summer Training in the Mournes
IMPORTANT: EARLIER START 1830-1930, COURSES CLOSE 2030. CAR PARK WILL BE LOCKED AT 2100. For the longer courses, a headtorch might be a good idea – it is getting a bit dark in the denser forest.
If you might be back late, please consider parking on the road in front of the The Church and walking to registration – see map below.
4 courses on offer – all a little harder than usual to offer a bit of a challenge for our last MESS of 2023:
Beginner – about 2km. Navigation using or close to paths and other obvious linear features.
Improver – about 2.5-3.5km. On linear features, with decision points
Advanced – about 3-3.5km. Challenging navigation TD4 and physical terrain.
Expert – about 4-5km. Challenging navigation TD4/5 and physical terrain.
👋Everyone welcome! Complete beginners, families, dogs, runners will all find a suitable course to enjoy. For experienced orienteers there will be longer and technically challenging Advanced / Expert course on offer to help hone your fitness and map reading skills.
