| Event Format | It’s 50 years since Lagan Valley Orienteers had its first official event and first official recruits, and we’re going to make this a great year!
We’re hijacking the Club Meet to go back in time to 1976, when punches, control cards, dubious O suits and cloakroom tickets were all orienteering essentials. |

Control gathering 12.15pm to 12.45pm. Social takes place afterwards 12.45pm to 2pm. |

| Price | 💰 Club Meets are FREE for members of LVO, NIOA and Orienteering Ireland as well as O-Play and TD1/2 Juniors.
Non-members are also welcome to attend any of our activities and events but there is a £5 fee per person for this activity. After attending three orienteering events, people must join a club so they are insured. Join our club (LVO) today to avail of free coaching and reduced event entry fees: https://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/join Please note: Participants who are not members of British Orienteering or of another orienteering federation are not covered by British Orienteering’s public liability insurance. You are welcome to enter this event, but please understand that you are taking part at your own risk. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered. Members of Orienteering Ireland are covered by British Orienteering insurance. |

| Kit requirements | 🧥👖 Full body cover is mandatory. If the weather is cold or wet – a waterproof jacket will be mandatory. As well as times of exercise there will be periods of coaching when you will be stationary, so layer up – bring along a hat and gloves to keep comfortable. There is likely to be a bag drop off point with a coach present or close by. NOTE: the club or coach is not responsible for the safe keeping of the kit, it is dropped off at your own risk, so please leave any valuables in the car. All should carry whistles. Bring a compass if you use and have one. Some base plate and thumb compasses will be available to borrow and try out. Dibbers are not required. | |
