FERMO are organising the Irish Orienteering Championships next weekend, but LVO are helping with the Relays at Parkanaur on Monday 6th May (https://ioc2019.com/relay/).
A few people have already volunteered to help (or someone else has volunteered them), but we still need more for various roles, including:
Marshalls – we’ll need at least 2-3 to man a few points on the course, including the gates on either side of the deer park.
Map/Dibber Distribution – all maps and dibbers will be in numbered envelopes, so they just have to be handed to the runners with corresponding bibs as runners move into the holding pens.
Downloads/MOO stuff – everyone will be pre-registered and paid, so this will hopefully be simpler than usual.
Control Collection – 200+ runners registered, and ~40 controls, so many hands, etc.
And there’ll almost certainly be other stuff we’ll need a hand with on the day. If you can help please respond here or email me (conor.mckernon@gmail.com).
Thanks for all the offers.
I’ve mailed those not competing, we’ll need you there by 8:30 to avoid the rush.
For those running on Monday, once I see what legs you’re assigned to (after the 4pm team declaration deadline on Sunday) I’ll work out where/when we can use you.
There’ll also be plenty of tidying up around the start/finish if anyone doesn’t want to go back out into the forest again.
I think you should have Harry and me on your list. We’re not running so will do whatever you want.
I will b running…Happy to help either side of that….control collection or other requirement on the day
Conor, I am not competing but if I can arrange car sharing I will be happy to come down and help. I am better at helping when I don’t have to worry about competing as well. Distributing bibs or marshalling sounds good.
Conor thanks for doing this. I’m sure Sarah, Peter or I could help before or after our runs. Let us know what we can do.
Thanks – I’ve had a couple of emails as well. I’ll see who we’ve got in a few days and let everyone know where they’re needed.
Ben and I would be up for control collection and Gavin would help with computers when not running
Mark and I will be there and happy to be allocated jobs! Paul is also over so I’m sure he can be drafted.
Forgot to add – if you want to help out, that won’t prevent you from competing (assuming you’ve told Olivia you want to run).
