A WEE report for Antrim Castle Gardens

🌤A lovely late summer evening welcomed those who took part yesterday at Antrim. 🏃‍♀️Another good turn out, with new and returning newcomers, joining us for a fun evening exploring the park and the surrounding area. 🗺Lovely to plan and to run on the updated map (thanks Bill). Whilst mulling around having tea and buns, there were lots of compliments regarding the planning by Peter, another junior in the club who has got involved in this months Series. Unfortunately on the Long course, the leg planned to have the trickiest route choice (6-7) had a gate opened, so, for fairness, this Read More …

A WEE report on the Lady Dixon

🌤Another dry evening welcomed those who took part last week at Lady Dixon. 🏃‍♀️It was great to see a good turn out, with lots of newcomers joining us for a fun evening of running/walking the park. 🗺Lovely to plan and run on the updated map (thanks Stephen). Anastasiia’s courses received lots of compliments afterwards, with the long legs in particular causing good discussion about route choice. The fact that she brought us straight into the rose gardens had our heads spinning from the start. This was the second of four events in the (handicapped) August WEE series – so lets Read More …

hCALF Tables Updated

The results for Lady Dixon are in, showing a welcome increase in turnout, including 11 recording their frst WEE result of the year. The result table “WEE6LadyDixon.pdf” show a very even spread, giving confidence in the formulae and assumptions being made. The regularity table “hCOW Table.pdf” shows, as suggested last week, that Olivia Baxter, once reaching 4 results, would go to the top of the list. Look farther down the list at those who have 3 results so far and its clear that things could get very close when they reach the 4 results required to count.. The improvement table Read More …

Test post – ignore

Good-day. I am testing a potential fix to a problem with the LVO website’s distribution of posts. Unfortunately I need to create this test post. Please ignore it.

A WEE report on Jordanstown

🌤At last a dry evening welcomed those who took part in the first WEE in the August Series. 🏃‍♀️It was great to see a good number turn up on the day to join those who pre-entered, making for some good competition. 🗺With a few tweaks made to an updated map (thanks Bill) there were a few new control sites to be found and route choices to me made on Sarah’s courses. 😵To confuse you, we even threw in a mystery control (with no description), totally on purpose of course 🤥 This was of course the first of four events in Read More …

hCALF Tables Updated

TheUUJ results are in! A small turnout (presumably the Scottish6Days effect) means the statistics are a bit dodgy; in particular the event variance of +15secs for such a technically easy area (flat, open, with big buildings for guidance) is unexpected. Also unusual was the appearance of 7 first-timers; unfortunately for them UUJ sets their handicap which leaves only 3 events for scoring points and as it’s 4 to count it means they can’t win hCOW (points for regularity) and are unlikely to win Regatta (improvement) as they will have to carry a dns/dnf score into the final count. It’s reassuring Read More …

Tomorrow’s event at University of Ulster – Jordanstown, marks the beginning of the August WEE Series. A fresh start for us all – let’s see who set the pace and set an early lead on this months leader board. 🌞Forecast is dry, which is a nice change, so looking forward to a great evening. 📝On-line entry is closed but plenty of maps to register on the day. Just come along. 🏃‍♀️Jordanstown generally offers flat, fast running, but our planner Sarah Gamble has definitely chosen a few control sites which you won’t have visited before. 🧠Quick decision making along with keeping Read More …
