Two of our juniors, Rachel and Andrew, took on the Armagh city race on a cold Thur evening on the 18 Feb 16. It was a busy night with athletes from all over the country and indeed world taking part. Both our our athletes took on a hard and fast 3 km race around the Mall in Armagh city centre. Junior training started on the weekend 13/14 Feb 16 with an Irish Squad training weekend. Rachel, Sophie and Andrew from LVO participated, with Steph, Alan and Alison providing coaching and feeding support (well mainly Steph and Alison for the food). The weekend started with a time trial run at Phoenix Park on Saturday morning. This is a difficult 1.4km loop taking in tricky contouring, short steep climbs and river crossings and all with fallen trees to negotiate and very thick mud making every climb difficult. Would you love a bit more score training? Mass start at 2pm as from Cavehill Adventure Playground car park (north of castle) This week, training will allow participants to select controls of different points value and construct their own course in preparation for the Score Championships, both NI and Club. 20 controls with 45 minutes time limit as usual.
The ever popular WEE series kicks off again in May The first four events taking place in Ormeau, Musgrave, Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon and finally Stormont Estate.
