WEE 9: Jordanstown 28th June 2017

Next Wednesday is the last of the WEE Series in June – same format as the rest of the month – 2 courses (yellow short and orange long) – with some training available for those that want it. There will be plenty of help for newcomers and encouragement for the more experienced. Please use the Jordanstown Road entrance to the University of Ulster Jordanstown campus and make your way round to Car Park 5 – please drive carefully as there may already be people out running and there are likely to be other members of the public using university facilities. Survey 2017

The LVO 2017 Survey is for members and non-members and has two goals. Firstly to capture your details (LVO and non-LVO), including SI numbers, for our Autodownload archive and secondly to enlighten the Committee on the memberships views of the club. For non-members the online survey should only take a couple of minutes to complete and for members about 15 minutes. Please complete one survey per family member. Coaching at the WEE Series

Steph and Graeme have produced some really useful coaching exercises at each of the last 3 WEE sessions, catering for everyone from beginner to experienced orienteers. Even the most confident and experienced will benefit from an exercise that isolates a particular skill or technique and allows it to be practised and polished away from the stress of competition. Pot Luck Relay

Sunday morning fun! The Pot Luck Relay at Tollymore Enter up to Sat evening. Choose a course- long 3.5km with 90m climb, medium 2.8km with 60m climb or short 1.8 km with 40 m climb. Draw made to select teams. Start and finish at monument with views of several controls. Cheer on your fellow team members.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Rachel Collins and Andrew Elwood who have been selected to compete for Ireland in the European Youth O Champs in Slovakia from June 29 – July 2. Also congratulations to Paul Pruzina who will compete in the Junior World Championships in Finland a week later. Not forgetting Olivia Baxter who heads to Estonia at the end of June to run in the sprint event at the World Championships.

Tollymore Weekend – Camping?

Camping at Tollymore this weekend is in our own dedicated field. Same place as before … from the main entrance,  along the road then left before the monument.  Along that road past the toilet block then left into the field.  Park/pitch wherever you fancy.
