WEE Finale This Week – Be There

The Grand Finale of the 2017 WEE Series takes place this Wednesday at a new East Belfast venue for LVO. There will be courses, races, results, prizes and, we hope, hotdogs for all. The new venue is the Councillor Thomas Patton Memorial Park, with the usual offering of long and short courses. In addition there will be a special course for the under 16s who would normally run the long course. As the long course will venture into the adjacent Inverary estate, with a mix of park and urban orienteering, it will have to be restricted to the over 16s. Read More …

WEE 13 – Wednesday 23rd August – Botanic Gardens

This years penultimate WEE is at Botanic Gardens / Queen’s. Registration and the start will be to the rear of QUB, towards the south end of College Park East. Registration starts at 1800, courses open at 1830 and will close at 2030 sharp (Botanic Gardens gates are locked at 2100). WEE 12 – Wednesday 16th August – Bangor Castle

The WEE is back on again on Wednesday at Bangor Castle. Parking is by the leisure centre and long and short courses are available. Registration is from 18:00 and starts are from 18:30 to 19:30. Newcomers are very welcome and there will be people about to help get you started. Keep an eye on the forecast, it could be drizzly just for an added challenge.

Clarendon Dock WEE Cancelled

Despite the heroic efforts by the British Orienteering Chief Executive, our insurers and the Belfast Harbour Commission, we have not been able to agree insurance cover for the event. Therefore we have no option but to cancel. Please try and make sure your friends and family are aware of this. Look forward to next weeks WEE at Bangor Castle.

The WEE next week, August 9th, will be in the Harbour Estate around the historic Belfast Harbour Commissioners Office. Registration will be in the Corporation Square car park across the road from the Harbour Office. There is no charge in this car park after 6pm. Camping at Tollymore this weekend is in our own dedicated field. Same place as before … from the main entrance, along the road then left before the monument. Along that road past the toilet block then left into the field. Park/pitch wherever you fancy.
