Training Wed 14 Oct Barnett Demesne

Wednesday evening training continues at Barnett Demesne starting at 6.45pm.  The session will last about an hour.   For beginners there will be coaching on using a compass and map reading and for the more experienced there will be a ‘planning ahead’ exercise.  The light is fading fast now so head-torches are advised, control card holders will be useful and dibbers are not required.  Compasses will be available if you don’t have one.  If you have any questions you can email me on rdonioa’at’btinternet.com

This week training will be at Barnett Demesne (Malone House car park) from 6.45 to 7.45pm. You will need a head torch for the later part of the session. Hopefully the QUBOC head torches will appear! Don’t forget to come to the last WEE of the year on Wednesday in Lady Dixon Park. Prize giving will also start promptly at 8.15 pm; check on the WEE website to see if you are a prize winner from May, June or possibly August! There should be spot prizes on the night as well, but you have to be there to be in with a chance. There Read More …

LVO Club Orienteering Tops

Now is the time to start the process of ordering the next batch of LVO club orienteering tops. The cost will be of the order of £40 – a bit less if we get a large order together and for junior sizes. Actual costs will be confirmed once I know how many we are ordering. Sizing is important as the Trimtex tops can be a bit on the snug side. Please find a club member and try their top on to sort out what size you want (preferably before their run not after!). The order will go in at the Read More …

Missing Water Barrel

Appeal for help! Does anyone know the whereabouts of the club water barrel (the one with a tap) which cannot be found in Kilwee or in the MOO? Its last known whereabouts were (we think!) at Donard for Spring Cup 3. If you know where the barrel is hiding out, please let Helen or Philip know. No reward – only the thanks of thirsty club members following their runs (especially if this good weather continues). Don’t forget – the next WEE will be in Castle Gardens, Antrim, on Wed 17th June. This lovely park is well worth the trip so Read More …
