Sporteering – the next WOW

After 2 sessions of skills training in Barnett Demesne, next week sees the first WOW Sporteering. We’ll meet at Tim Hortons in Connswater and the WEE prize giving will follow. Details will appear shortly but plan to be there for an energetic evening, a warming cup of coffee and maybe a donut while the prize giving takes place. We are off to a good start! The next item on the WOW agenda is WEST 2 this Wednesday in Barnett Demesne. A number of the club coaches will be there offering a variety of exercises designed to improve your orienteering skills. So whether you are an absolute beginner, have some experience or are already very experienced, turn up and join in. All are welcome – you don’t have to be a member. WEE to WOW – 1st Session on Wednesday. Open to All

The WEE series came to an energetic end on Wednesday in Grove Park. Thanks to all those who volunteered to put on or help at the 12 evenings that made up the highly successful series and congratulations to all those who won prizes on either the Long or the Short courses. WOW! Sep – Dec Wednesday Programme

LVO, including the Tollymore and Orchard County hubs, has a full programme of orienteering related activity planned from the end of the WEE series right through to mid-December. All the details will appear on the LVO site and on Facebook – all you have to do is keep Wednesdays (and the occasional Monday and Tuesday) free and come to enjoy an evening’s orienteering related exercise every week. Plans are well under way for the 2019 WEE series which starts in May. The outline programme is: WEE 1  8 May  Orangefield Park; WEE 2 15 May  Ormeau Park; WEE 3  22 May  Barnett Demesne; WEE 4  29 May  Lady Dixon Park. To warm everyone up there will be a Pre-WEE on Wed 1 May in Ormeau Park. Coaching will be offered for all levels from complete beginner to experienced orienteer, so that by the time the series proper starts the following week all members and newcomers will be raring to go.
