Huge effort from volunteers

To all of you who helped at the NIOA Score and Night Champs yesterday, a huge thank you for all your efforts. One of the major threats to the existence of the club is getting enough volunteers signed up early enough that we can run the programme of events that you all enjoy. Running two events in one day was a real challenge, but the membership responded brilliantly. Thanks to our friends in NWOC and FERMO for coming along to support the events and giving us a bit of your craic. For the events, the only blip I’m aware of Read More …

Training news

Helen Baxter has agreed to run a series of courses for LVO club members. They will be on Wednesday evenings from 7 – 10 pm in the Derriaghy Room of the Lagan Valley Leisureplex. The club really needs as many volunteers as possible to run all the events we put on each year. These courses are a great place to start and give you the chance to meet other club members on a relaxed basis. Clarendon Dock WEE

I’m terribly sorry, but you should know that the Clarendon Dock WEE tomorrow evening is at severe risk. The Harbour Commission requirements for indemnity assurance appear to be more than our BOF Insurance will cover. I have asked the BOF insurers for a last minute review tomorrow morning. I will attempt to provide you with an update, but if there is no further news by 1 pm then I’m afraid we will have to cancel. Richard McCourt has put a huge effort into planning (and organizing) the event and is naturally gutted. Further news when I have it. Cecil
