As many of you know, LVO has a lot of orienteering equipment that allows us to run our fantastic events. Currently, our amazing and loyal member Wilbert graciously stores all this equipment in his facility in Ballyclare. We are extremely grateful for his generosity — thank you, Wilbert! 🙏
That said, we’d love to have our own club store — somewhere more centrally located around the Hillsborough / Lisburn area. This would make it much easier for our event officials to pick up and drop off equipment and also provide a home for our beloved Mobile Orienteering Office (MOO) — it may look like a repurposed chippy van but it is a bespoke designed command centre – you see it at all our large events. 🐮🚐
It’s been a nearly decade-long search for the perfect spot, and we’re hoping one of our members might know a solution.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- A 1–2 acre site in the Lisburn / Hillsborough / near Belfast area where we could put a temporary shed, OR
- A sports club or similar facility that would be happy to house our shed.
We’re not picky, but we know our needs — and finding the right spot would be a huge help to the club and our events.
