Coming Up in a park or forest near you!

👏Well done and thank you to North West Orienteering Club for putting on a great Colour Series event yesterday at Drum Manor. there was an encouraging turn out with 55 of the 97 participants from LVO. I am sure you all enjoyed your run, well worth the trip!

⛰The next event is our third and final Spring Cup, at Divis Mountain this coming Saturday (9 April). Entries close on Thursday evening. Click here for more info. Be sure to book on as this will be the last club orienteering event in NI for 4 weeks, before the much awaited WEE series starts up again on Wednesday 4 May at Hillsborough Forest.

Although there is a short break in local orienteering, there will still be lots going on!

🐲26 LVOers are travelling to South Wales over the Easter weekend (15-18 April) to compete at the JK22.

☘28 more of us are travelling down to Killarney for the Irish Orienteering Championships on the bank holiday weekend (29 April – 2 May). There is still time to enter, but be quick, entries close this Friday (8 April).

Good luck to all our taking part in these two great events.

Nestled in between the two national competitions is the LVO Annual General Meeting. The AGM will again be held online on Wednesday 27 April, 7.30pm (Zoom login details to follow). Please put this date in your diary, with The meeting is open to every member and it is a chance for you to have a look at what is going on and have a say in the direction we take. The committee are a diverse bunch and we aim to keep it that way, to keep things inclusive and cater for all our members. We would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in being involved at committee level. The past two AGMs have worked well online and we again aim to keep the meeting as brief as possible and use it to celebrate our amazing volunteers through the LVO Club Awards.

The first of these awards is the Steve McGibbon Trophy – this is a beautiful glass and wooden trophy which is awarded to a person/s who has made a significant contribution to the club over the past year. More details found here. Please email any suggestions (name and a short sentence as to why you are nominating that person), to secretary@lvo.org.uk by Wednesday 20 April. All nominations will be announced and voted on at the AGM.

Planner, Novice Planner of the Year and Organiser of the Year Awards – Here is the list of 2021 event planners and organisers, please consider putting someone forward for nomination – again emailing any suggestions to secretary@lvo.org.uk by Wednesday 20 April.
