The final WEE!
Our last WEE in August will be held at Belvoir Park Forest.
After the Run there will be a Prize giving for winners of the May, June and August WEEs and some food for everyone – hotdogs! 🌭
To accommodate the social time at the end and the fact that daylight is fading, there will be an earlier start window of 6.15-6.30pm and the last start window has been moved forward to 7-7.15pm. Courses will close at 8.15pm sharp to allow some fading light for control collection.
I hope there is a great turn out to enjoy the courses planned by James Earnshaw. James, is a first time planner, so we can look forward to a fresh look and challenge. In fact all the planners involved in the 2022 WEE series are relative novices, with 8 out of 12 volunteering in this capacity for the first time 👏. A big thank you also goes to first time coordinator, Jane Wilson. It is vital for us as participants and so healthy for the club to have willing and happy volunteers. Thanks to all who have volunteered to help out in this WEE series.
Welcome: As well as club members, we welcome everyone including newcomers. There will be someone available at registration to help newcomers with any questions or queries.
Terrain: The terrain is mixed forest, paths and grass. Please wear full leg cover to protect yourself from brambles and nettles.
Provisional course details:
Short ~ 2.5km
Long ~ 4.5km
Parking: Main Forest Park car park

Entry: is online using SiEntries. The first time you enter online you need to register with SiEntries (enter an email and a password) after which they will send you a link to log in and should be straightforward.

Entry on Day (EOD) is possible but members will be charged non-members fee. So to ensure a map is reserved and save £2, enter online before midnight of Sunday before the event. It will also give us an indication on numbers for catering 😀
Safety: Please be aware of, and be courteous to, other park users. Both the Short and the Long course may cross or run along service roads and footpaths. Courses will close at 8.30pm and the controls will be lifted after that time and you will be searching for something that isn’t there any more! So, if you are still out on the course at that time please report to download so that we know you aren’t missing. As this forest park is a more remote environment than previous WEEs, a whistle will be a mandatory piece of safety equipment to carry.
Do not attend if you have Covid or are displaying Covid symptoms and at the event keep good control measures such as hand hygiene and social distancing.
