Entry/Registration Register via this ONLINE FORM
Registration closes Midnight, Wednesday 28 January 2026
Start Time / Finish / Controls Starts will operate from 9.30 am to 9.45 am. Courses will close at 10.45 am, when controls will begin to be collected. If you are still on your course at 10.45 am, please proceed directly to the Finish.

Everyone must pass through Registration/Download once finished (even if you do not complete your course), so that all participants are accounted for.

Controls will be SIAC enabled. If you have your own dibber starting with an “8”, you can use contactless punching—remember to listen for the beep to confirm it has worked. The Start and Finish controls must be manually punched.

Please stay afterwards for a chat over a cup of tea and a biscuit at our gazebo. We will also have a short prize-giving for course winners. LVO members will be available to answer questions, and the kids can spend some time together.

Price 💰 Free for members of NIOA (LVO, FERMO, NWOC) and Orienteering Ireland.

💰 Non-members are also welcome to attend any of our activities and events, but there is a £5 fee per map. After attending three orienteering events, people must join a club so they are insured. For 2026 membership, JOIN HERE via the British Orienteering website, selecting LVO as your club.

Terrain Summary Tollymore forest is a great place to discover the sport of orienteering. It has a network of paths and tracks to help navigate, as well as runnable forest with a variety of features. The forest is popular with hikers, runners, dog walkers, horse riders and mountain bikers, so take care and treat others with courtesy.

Due to storm damage some smaller / indistinct paths are partially obstructed by fallen trees and branches.  All are passable, but some may be a little slower than anticipated and they may be harder to distinguish on the ground.  All the ‘main’ paths are clear and fully passable.

There are some uprooted trees on the course due to recent storm damage. It is heavily advised to go around these fallen trees as opposed to try to climb over them.

Previous Maps/Routegadget Tollymore was last used for a club Autumn Trophy in 2022. Routegadget can be found here: https://www.lvo.routegadget.co.uk/rg2/#480
Photos and Video One of our LVO club members may take photos or videos during coaching sessions. These may be used to promote orienteering and our club’s activities. If you do not wish your image to be used, or would like further clarification, please contact us before the event.
First Aid / Safety Please do not come to the training if you are unwell.

Please bring and carry any medication you might need, especially inhalers and EpiPen’s.

If you come across an injured or ill person, please stop, help and get further help. There will likely be qualified first aiders at the finish to provide support.

All participants must return to download, whether they complete the course or not. This is to account for all competitors, ensuring everyone’s safe return.

Courses will close and controls collected in at 10.45 am sharp. If you are still out on the course at this time return to finish and download immediately.

Kit requirements 🧥👖 Full body cover is mandatory. If the weather is cold or wet – a waterproof jacket will be mandatory. All should carry whistles. Bring a compass and a control description holder if you have one.

Dibbers can be hired on the day for free from registration. If lost, replacement cost is £40. If you have your own dibber, go to registration beside the carpark so that the dibber number is registered with your name.

Parking £5 at entrance; free if you have annual pass (cost of £40).
