IOC Relays – Thanks

Thanks very much to everyone who helped out yesterday at Parkanaur, particularly: Philip Baxter – Planner John McCullough – Controller And also everyone who I grabbed at the last minute. I’m certain I’ve forgotten at least a few people, didn’t know a few names, and didn’t see who all collected controls so apologies to them, but at least some of the list is: Helen Baxter Olivia Baxter Anne Bell Harry Bell Sharon Dickenson Raymond Finlay Theresa Finlay Graeme Francis Marie Forker Stephen Gilmore Daphne Hammond Colin Henderson Aileen McCarron Mark Pruzina Paul Pruzina Billy Reed Ann Savage

IOC Relays at Parkanaur – 6th May – help needed!

FERMO are organising the Irish Orienteering Championships next weekend, but LVO are helping with the Relays at Parkanaur on Monday 6th May (https://ioc2019.com/relay/). A few people have already volunteered to help (or someone else has volunteered them), but we still need more for various roles, including: Marshalls – we’ll need at least 2-3 to man a few points on the course, including the gates on either side of the deer park. Map/Dibber Distribution – all maps and dibbers will be in numbered envelopes, so they just have to be handed to the runners with corresponding bibs as runners move into Read More …

Barnett Demesne WEE – Wednesday 27th June

Last WEE before the summer break is in Barnett’s Demesne. The MOO will be in one of the car parks adjacent to Malone House – see map here. Leg cover – probably a good idea, but less critical than recent weeks. Undergrowth along the Long course isn’t too bad (no waist high nettles like Antrim Hospital…). If you’re aggressive with your short cuts or rusty with your navigation, and have sensitive skin wear, some leg cover. Short course is mostly on paths, so there shouldn’t be any tramping through undergrowth required. The Long course will cross a few roads in Read More …
