WEE 7 Carnfunnock Report and June League results/standings

Great job everyone who participated in a fantastic evenings fun running up and down the slopes of in Carnfunnock Country Park. Again the weather was playing games with us, with most of us getting a bit damp, along with a few soggy maps for those who risked not taking a bag πŸŒ§πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒ§πŸ’ͺ

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ 57 people took part, 28 of whom were juniors from both clubs and schools. Great to see all the young people enjoying getting lost like the best of us!

πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Special thanks go to planner Daniel Vasey and organiser Richard Vasey. Other super volunteers who made the event a success were, Ric and Peter Gamble who helped set up & take down registration, Matthew Vasey on starts and other bits and bobs, Alan Gartside for printing the maps and Colin Smith/Sarah Gamble for delivering them, Mark Pruzina, Sharon Dickenson and Geoffrey Collins with online registration for other techy background stuff. For control collectors, Chris Colwell, Richard Hetherington and Paul Daniels and apologies to any others who offered a hand and I have missed.

πŸ‘ƒ I’m having a few issues with Routegadget, so you will have to wait to draw on your track and have a nosey at other peoples routes. Hopefully we will have it up later today.

πŸ§—β€β™‚οΈ With one WEE left in June, how are you fairing in the June League Table? Here are the people sitting on top at the moment (excluding the top three people from May who will already be prize winners):

Long Course

Juniors: Adam Wharry (53 points), Samuel Francey (48) and Peter Gamble (39). Not far behind are Robbie Mather (34) and Luke McCloskey (33).

Female: Stephanie Pruzina and Gillian Wasson are joint top (55 points) and Sharon Dickenson is in third place (48), with Carrie Stewart (46) and Helen Baxter (43) following close behind.

Male: Its very tight at the top this month for the men with Richard Hetherington (38), Paul Daniels (37), Lyle Fleming (36) and Mark Pruzina (36) all pushing to be the June winner. However there are a few others lurking very close behind, ready to take a position if any of these top four slip up.

Short Course

Juniors: Abi Vance (58), Penny Niblett (57) and Daniel Mullan (52). Exciting stuff, these three have been swapping places all month! Cara Mullan (44) and Harry Watt (39) have also had three good runs already this month.

Female: Kateryna Mahlych (39), Elizabeth Dawson and Daphne Hammond (20) and Ruth Blair (19).

Male: Brendan Cormican (19) and Gareth Brown (10).

So all to play for in the last June WEE!

Looking forward to seeing you all next week at the flat and fast University of Ulster at Jordanstown. πŸ‘‹
