📣A WEE update on the May Scores

😬 Grit your teeth, with only one week to go in the May league, we are in for a tight finish. Only 4 points separate the top three position in both the Long and Short courses.

Last month I made a few errors with my sums, so should all be fixed now. The high scores means I need more beads for my abacus.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️Long Course: Well done to the 21 people who have participated at all three venues this month, fantastic effort!

There has been some movement at the top. Presently in the top six positions are, Anastasia Mahlych 60 pts (top junior in all three events), Olivia Baxter 59pts (top adult female), Billy Reed 56pts (top adult male), Sam Green on 54pts (second Junior) and Simon Reeve 52 points.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Short Course: Super job from the 3 people who have taken part in the three events this month. As on the long there has been movement at the top in the Short standings. Sonia Wallace 41 points (top female), Richard McCourt 39 points (top male), Ruby Gardiner 37 points (top Junior), Brendan Cormican 35 points, Jennifer Dawson (2nd Junior) and Alan Brown are both sitting on 31 points.

❗Please note that these are just provisional results. Junior runners supported by adults are classed as non-competitive, so I still need to confirm a few results.

👏Well done to everyone taking part. With only one week to go before the points are reset for June, it is still all to play for. Come next week to Crawfordsburn and let’s see who will be crowned the May WEE Winners. 🤴👸

⭐⭐Again a big thank you to all involved in organising and planning the courses (Fred and Daphne) and also to those lovely people who have volunteered to print the maps, help at the starts, set things up on the computers, collect in controls afterwards and various other bits and pieces – you are stars! ⭐⭐

We still need to sort out the WEE venues and volunteers for August. So we need people to step forward to help plan and organise. Novice volunteers will be supported by the monthly coordinator/mentor, so if you haven’t volunteered yet, please let us know, we will be so grateful of your offer of support, however big or small.

📅Hope to see you all out again next Wednesday Evening!
