Night Champs, Portglenone – Final details

Just a few reminders regarding the Night Champs event tomorrow evening:

Registration, download: Registration and download will be based from a car in the car park. If you are ‘hiring’ a dibber or have any other requirements please report to registration.

Starts: Start and finish are adjacent to the car park. Please arrive at the start area at your allotted start window. Competitors will start at 1 minute intervals. There is a warm up area next to the start and car park.

Clothing and equipment: Arms and legs should be fully covered and a whistle is mandatory. Ensure your torch is in good working order with good battery life.

Safety: There are some steep and slippery slopes to manage and there are water hazards, drainage channels, ponds and the main one being the River Bann. Although there are not controls near the river, you may choose to run along the path adjacent to it, so please pay attention. The most likely injury will will be caused by running into vegetation such as low hanging branches. First Aid will be based at registration/download.

Please continue to adhere to social distancing and good hygiene. There will be hand sanitiser provided and the toilet block should also be open.

Maps and control descriptions: All maps will be double sided with a map flip during the course. Control descriptions are written on the maps and can also be provided loose at start. Before you arrive at the start, please ensure you know what course you are entered for and take the correct map.

Courses will close and controls will be collected from 19.30.

Looking forward to seeing you (or blinded by your light) tomorrow evening.
