LV💗ing this Autumn🍂Winter⛄Collection

LVO have some great Orienteering Activities and Events that you can pack in before the end of this year!

These activities are open to everyone, so why not invite someone new along to join in! It might help motivate us as the longer nights draw in.

🧭🚶‍♂️🏃‍♀️For starters, look out for the ‘Come and Try’ O activities at Tollymore on Sun 10 October and Donaghadee on Sat 23 October. Perfect for newcomers and families who want to spice up their outdoor adventures (Orange / Light Green courses).

🧭🌲 Next up is the Colour Series event at Rostrevor/Kilbroney Forest Park on Saturday 30 October – info on LVO Fixtures page and Entries open Friday 8 October! There are exciting courses planned for all ages and abilities. What a fun way to end the half term break 🎃

🧭🌜 WENT* (Wednesday Evening Night Training) starts on Wednesday 3 November, kicking off in Ormeau Park, Belfast. So time to get new batteries for the headtorch and have some fun exploring in the dark. We plan to put on a number of WENTs around the large LVO catchment area over the darker months!

🧭🌲🌜 NI Night* Champs 2021 – this event was postponed from last winter, so we eagerly anticipate running around Portglenone Forest. This is a great wee forest, so if you haven’t ventured out in the forest in the dark before, this is the one to try, because it has clear boundaries on all 4 sides, preventing you from wandering off too far! There are three courses to pick from, again more info can be found on LVO fixtures. Earlier in the day, NWOC are hosting a Colour Series event at Drumnaph, only about 25mins away, so why not make the trip and have a great 2-event day!

🧭🎄🌜 Christmas O and Social – keep Saturday 4 December free for the LVO Christmas social and fun event. This is always a great nights craic and a popular event, so when the venue and details are confirmed, be sure to book early!

🧭🌲⏱ We are planning three Sunday Scores in preparation for the NIOA Score Champs. 16 January Antrim Castle Gardens, 23 Jan Belvior Forest and 30 Jan tbc (OCO area). Score courses involve you planning your own route to find as many controls in the fixed time.

🧭🌲⏱🌜 NI Score and Night* Champs are happening on Saturday 19 February. This is another great double header. Enjoy the day time score event and after a break to recharge, there will be three night courses to pick from – with all that score and night training you will be well ready! Both are Championship events, but don’t let that put you off, as always there are courses suitable for everyone.

We are looking for happy volunteers to help make this all happen! Please have a look at where and when you would like to help out and get in touch with anyone on the committee before we get in touch with you. 😊

Don’t miss out on other events organised by our friends at Fermo and NWOC – for all NI events check out NIOA Fixtures.

*Please note: children below W16/M16 are welcome to participate and enjoy night orienteering activities but they must be accompanied around the course by an adult. Night Championships are for W16/M16+
