Ormeau Park Wed 30 Oct

After the intricacies of East Belfast experienced at this week’s Sporteering 7, come along to Ormeau Park on Wed 30 Oct for the first of the WENT events. These trining activities take place in parks and are designed to allow all levels of orienteer to improve their skills while getting some much need exercise and have a good deal of fun in the process. All you need to join in is suitable attire and shoes for running on potentially wet and mucky grass! Ideally bring a compass and a head torch, but we will have some to lend you if necessary.

Turn up by 7.15pm to register (Ormeau main car park) for a 7.30 mass start. There will be a choice of activities from basic score (find all the controls in any order) through to a game of orienteering snooker (returning by popular demand), all using electronic controls. Dibbers will be provided for those who do not have one. The time limit is 45 minutes; once everyone is back we will collect controls and head home!

If you have enjoyed any of the WOW events so far, come along to experience something a bit different – if you haven’t yet been to training or Sporteering, come along anyway; you don’t have to be a club member. Cost is £3 for members, £4 for non. Juniors will have to be accompanied by an adult. Just let us know if you plan to bring a group so that we can have enough maps ready.
