Event Description

The final WEE in June will be held at The University of Ulster at Jordanstown.

First time Organisers and Planners, Paul Daniel’s and Richard Hetherington, under the watchful eye of Wilbert Hollinger, I’m sure have a treat for us all.

Flat open areas around the university buildings.

Welcome: As well as club members, we welcome everyone including newcomers and especially the group of juniors from Ballymena schools who are using this as the final run of the June WEEs for their inter-school league –  best of luck everyone!

There will be someone available at registration to help newcomers with any questions or queries.

Terrain: The university grounds are very flat, so basically no climb. I’m sure the planner/s will be using the buildings for route choice and to get us changing in direction – so be careful to keep a good eye on the map and read the control descriptions!

Provisional course details:

Short 2.2km, 19 controls.

Long 4.2km, 12 controls.

Parking: Is in Car park 9 adjacent to the tennis courts, drive round towards the back of the main building click here for a site map. Time dependent parking fees. E.g. £2 parking fee for 2 hours.

Facilities: There are toilet facilities in the sports centre. Dogs allowed.

Entry: is online using SiEntries. The first time you enter online you need to register with SiEntries (enter an email and a password) after which they will send you a link to log in and should be straightforward.

Entry on Day (EOD) is possible but it is added hassle, it will cost members an extra £2. So, members please note, if you wish a long map reserved and save £2, enter online before midnight of Sunday 19 June.

Safety: Please be aware of, and be courteous to, other park users. Both the Short and the Long course may cross service roads. Courses will close at 8pm when controls will be collected in. The courses will close at 8:30 pm sharp, so if you are still out there at that time please report to the finish and download so that we know you aren’t missing. The controls will be lifted after that time and you will be searching for something that isn’t there any more!

Do not attend if you have Covid or are displaying Covid symptoms and at the event keep good control measures such as hand hygiene and social distancing.

Wishing you all a fun run!

See you back for more WEEs in August.
