You get the same qua lity courses and a print out of your time and splits but without online re sults and a league table.\n\nThese activities are a great introduction if you are new to the sport\, or a valuable training opportunity if you are a lready a dab hand.\n\nEach evening there will be two courses\, Short and L ong.\n\nThe Short Course is approximately 2km in length and has relatively simple navigation. This is really well suited to children and family grou ps who are out for an explore. It is also popular with seasoned orienteers who do not want too physical a run.\n\nThe Long Course is approximately 4 km in length and is the navigation is more challenging. Although our eyes adjust it may be good to bring a head torch to help you read the map and the ground.\n\nSom e steep and uneven ground - be careful of slips and trips.\n\nWatch out fo r other park users including cyclists and dog walkers - please give way.\n \nThere will be a first aid and a qualified first aider available at regis tration. Registration is also a safe place for children to wait.\n\nPlease do not come to the event if you are unwell.\n\nPlease bring and carry any medication you might need\, especially inhalers and EpiPen’s.\n\nIf you come across an injured or ill person\, please stop\, help and get further help. There will likely be qualified first aiders on the course who can s top to provide support.\n\nAll participants must return to download\, whet her they complete the course or not. This is to account for all competitor s\, ensuring everyone’s safe return.\n\nCourses will close and controls collected in at 8.30pm sharp.
