For those who thrive on competition we also have something for you\, with the WEE series league table.\n\nCoac hing available – if you are new\, don’t worry\, there will be experien ced coaches/officials at registration to welcome newcomers\, explain the a ctivity and give some coaching tips. If you feel you or your child would l ike more support than this\, there may be some coaches available to ‘sha dow’ you round the course. See here for Terms.\n\n\nCourses\nEach evening there wi ll be two courses\, Short and Long.\n\nThe Short Course is approximately 2 km in length and has relatively simple navigation. This is really well sui ted to children and family groups who are out for an explore. It is also p opular with seasoned orienteers who do not want too physical a run.\n\nThe Long Course is approximately 4km in length and is the navigation is more challenging. It is best suited for runners looking for more adventure and best suited to adults or juniors with navigational experience.\n\n\nMap\n\ n\n Map Scale 1:5000\n Contour Interval 2.5m\n Previous Maps &\; Rou tegadget:\n\n This area was last used for a WEE event in June 2026.\n Ro utegadget map and courses can be found here.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTerrain Summary\ nParkland.\n\n\nFirst Aid and Safety\nWatch out for other park users.\n\nT here will be first aid and a qualified first aider available at registrati on. If you come across an injured or ill person\, please stop\, help and g et further help. There will likely be qualified first aiders on the course who can stop to provide support. Please do not come to the event if you a re unwell. Please bring and carry any medication you might need\, especial ly inhalers and EpiPen’s.\n\nPlease take a note of the course closure ti me. If you are still out on the course at this time return to finish and d ownload immediately. All participants must return to download\, whether th ey complete the course or not. This is to account for all competitors\, en suring everyone’s safe return.\n\nRegistration is a safe place for lost children to wait.\n\n\nKit requirements\n\n\n Full leg cover is recommend ed to protect against summer growth of briers and nettles.\n A waterproof jacket may also be mandatory if the organisers decide the weather require s one\, so bring one along just in case.\n Dogs are permitted in the carp ark and on the course. Common sense regarding control of dogs applies.\n\n \n\n\nParking\nEnter the grounds via Massey Avenue and follow signage to t he Visitors car park\, past the main Parliament Building and on the left.\ n\nNeed a ride to the event?
