For those who thrive on competition we also have something for you\, with the WEE series league table.\n\nCoac hing available – if you are new\, don’t worry\, there will be experien ced coaches/officials at registration to welcome newcomers\, explain the a ctivity and give some coaching tips. If you feel you or your child would l ike more support than this\, there may be some coaches available to ‘sha dow’ you round the course. See here for Terms.\n\n\nCourses\nEach evening there wi ll be two courses\, Short and Long.\n\nThe Short Course is approximately 2 km in length and has relatively simple navigation. This is really well sui ted to children and family groups who are out for an explore. It is also p opular with seasoned orienteers who do not want too physical a run.\n\nThe Long Course is approximately 4km in length and is the navigation is more challenging. It is best suited for runners looking for more adventure and best suited to adults or juniors with navigational experience.\n\n\nMap\n\ n\n Map Scale 1:4000\n Contour Interval 2.5m\n Previous Maps &\; Rou tegadget:\n\n This area was last used for a WEE event in May 2024.\n Rou tegadget map and courses can be found here.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTerrain Summary\n Parkland\, urban university buildings\, paths and roads.\n\n\nFirst Aid an d Safety\nWatch out for other park users.\n\nThere will be first aid and a qualified first aider available at registration. If you come across an in jured or ill person\, please stop\, help and get further help. There will likely be qualified first aiders on the course who can stop to provide sup port. Please do not come to the event if you are unwell. Please bring and carry any medication you might need\, especially inhalers and EpiPen’s.\ n\nPlease take a note of the course closure time. If you are still out on the course at this time return to finish and download immediately. All par ticipants must return to download\, whether they complete the course or no t. This is to account for all competitors\, ensuring everyone’s safe ret urn.\n\nRegistration is a safe place for lost children to wait.\n\n\nKit r equirements\n\n\n Full leg cover is recommended to protect against summer growth of briers and nettles.\n A waterproof jacket may also be mandator y if the organisers decide the weather requires one\, so bring one along j ust in case.\n Dogs are not permitted on the course as they cross playing fields.
