 n\n\nEvent Format\nThe Wednesday Evening Event (WEE) Series consists of ei
 ght races throughout May and June.\n\nThe WEE series is a great introducti
 on if you are new to the sport\, or a valuable training opportunity if you
  are already a dab hand. For those who thrive on competition we also have 
 something for you\, with the WEE series league table.\n\nEach evening ther
 e will be two courses\, Short and Long.\n\nThe Short Course is approximate
 ly 2km in length and has relatively simple navigation. This is really well
  suited to children and family groups who are out for an explore. It is al
 so popular with seasoned orienteers who do not want too physical a run.\n\
 nThe Long Course is approximately 4km in length and is the navigation is m
 ore challenging. It is best suited for runners looking for more adventure 
 and best suited to adults or juniors with navigational experience.\n\nCoac
 hing available - if you are new\, don't worry\, there will be experienced 
 coaches/officials at registration to welcome newcomers\, explain the activ
 ity and give some coaching tips. If you feel you or your child would like 
 more support than this\, there may be some coaches available to 'shadow' y

 Registration\, Start and Finish\nRegistration: 6.15pm - 7.15pm. Registrati
 on will in the visitors car park to the East of the main Stormont building
 . Come here if you need to borrow any equipment e.g. a dibber (electronic 
 timing device).\n\nStarts: 6.30pm - 7.30pm. Start will be a short walk fro
 m registration. If you have registered online and do not need any equipmen
 t\, please go directly to the start lane.\n\nCourse Closed: 8.30pm. Finish

 Additional juniors go free.\n\nIf you're a member of a NIOA club\, you can
  bring non-orienteering friends for free. Fill in the form for one free en
 try (Will be released in April 2026). Remember\, they can only have one f
 ree entry within the WEE series. If they like the event and want to come b
 ack for more\, they can join our club and pay membership rates\, or pay as
  a non-member next time.\n\nPlease note: Participants who are not members 
 of British Orienteering or of another orienteering federation are not cove
 red by British Orienteering’s public liability insurance. You are welcom
 e to enter this event\, but please understand that you are taking part at 
 your own risk. For example\, if you were to accidentally injure a member o
 f the public or damage property during the event\, you would not be covere
 d. Members of Orienteering Ireland are covered by British Orienteering ins

 ox 4km\n\nShort Course – approx 2km\n\n\nFirst Aid and Safety\nWatch out
  for other park users.\n\nThere will be a first aid and a qualified first 
 aider available at registration. Registration is also a safe place for chi
 ldren to wait.\n\nPlease do not come to the event if you are unwell.\n\nPl
 ease bring and carry any medication you might need\, especially inhalers a
 nd EpiPen’s.\n\nIf you come across an injured or ill person\, please sto
 p\, help and get further help. There will likely be qualified first aiders
  on the course who can stop to provide support.\n\nAll participants must r
 eturn to download\, whether they complete the course or not. This is to ac
 count for all competitors\, ensuring everyone’s safe return.\n\nCourses 
 will close and controls collected in at 8.30pm sharp. If you are still out
  on the course at this time return to finish and download immediately.\n\n
 \nKit requirements\nFull leg cover is recommended to protect against summe
 r growth of briers and nettles.\n\nA waterproof jacket may also be mandato
 ry if the organisers decide the weather requires one\, so bring one along 
 just in case.\n\nDogs are permitted in the carpark and on the course\, how
 ever common sense control of dogs applies.\n\n\nParking\nEnter the grounds
  via Massey Avenue and follow signage to the Visitors car park\, past the 
 main Parliament Building and on the left.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNeed a ride

 embers only).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nToilets and other facilities\nToile
 ts available on the main drive in the estate\, approximately 500m from car
  park.\n\nThere is also a very good children's (Mo Mowlam) playpark near t
 he main entrance at the bottom of the drive.\n\n\n
