 dens\n\n\nEvent Format\nThe Wednesday Evening Event (WEE) Series consists 
 of eight races throughout May and June.\n\nThe WEE series is a great intro
 duction if you are new to the sport\, or a valuable training opportunity i
 f you are already a dab hand. For those who thrive on competition we also 
 have something for you\, with the WEE series league table.\n\nEach evening
  there will be two courses\, Short and Long.\n\nThe Short Course is approx
 imately 2km in length and has relatively simple navigation. This is really
  well suited to children and family groups who are out for an explore. It 
 is also popular with seasoned orienteers who do not want too physical a ru
 n.\n\nThe Long Course is approximately 4km in length and is the navigation
  is more challenging. It is best suited for runners looking for more adven
 ture and best suited to adults or juniors with navigational experience.\n\
 nCoaching available - if you are new\, don't worry\, there will be experie
 nced coaches/officials at registration to welcome newcomers\, explain the 
 activity and give some coaching tips. If you feel you or your child would 
 like more support than this\, there may be some coaches available to 'shad

 nRegistration: 6.15pm - 7.15pm. Registration will be next to the overflow 
 car park beside Clotworthy House. Come here if you need to borrow any equi
 pment e.g. a dibber (electronic timing device).\n\nStarts: 6.30pm - 7.30pm
 . Start will be a short walk from registration. If you have registered onl
 ine and do not need any equipment\, please go directly to the start lane.\
 n\nCourse Closed: 8.30pm. Finish is close to registration/download.\n\n\nP

 where all are going round a course together – entry fee is per required 
 number of maps – one entry = one map. There is no fee to hire an SI card

 for two seniors and one junior. Additional juniors go free.\n\nIf you're a
  member of a NIOA club\, you can bring non-orienteering friends for free. 
 Fill in the form for one free entry (Will be released in April 2026). Rem
 ember\, they can only have one free entry within the WEE series. If they l
 ike the event and want to come back for more\, they can join our club and 
 pay membership rates\, or pay as a non-member next time.\n\nPlease note: P
 articipants who are not members of British Orienteering or of another orie
 nteering federation are not covered by British Orienteering’s public lia
 bility insurance. You are welcome to enter this event\, but please underst
 and that you are taking part at your own risk. For example\, if you were t
 o accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the
  event\, you would not be covered. Members of Orienteering Ireland are cov
 ered by British Orienteering insurance. \n\n\nTerrain Summary\nParkland a

 ourse Notes\nLong Course – approx 4km\n\nShort Course – approx 2km\n\n
 \nFirst Aid and Safety\nThe river is very deep and can only be crossed by 
 bridges.\n\nCrossing the main road is NOT permitted\, you can use the pede
 strian underpass.\n\nUse pedestrian crossing with lights to cross from car
  park to venue. Children should be accompanied by an adult.\n\nWatch out f
 or other park users.\n\nThere will be a first aid and a qualified first ai
 der available at registration. Registration is also a safe place for lost 
 children to wait.\n\nPlease do not come to the event if you are unwell.\n\
 nPlease bring and carry any medication you might need\, especially inhaler
 s and EpiPen’s.\n\nIf you come across an injured or ill person\, please 
 stop\, help and get further help. There will likely be qualified first aid
 ers on the course who can stop to provide support.\n\nAll participants mus
 t return to download\, whether they complete the course or not. This is to
  account for all competitors\, ensuring everyone’s safe return.\n\nCours
 es will close and controls collected in at 8.30pm sharp. If you are still 
 out on the course at this time return to finish and download immediately.\
 n\n\nKit requirements\nFull leg cover is recommended to protect against su
 mmer growth of briers and nettles.\n\nA waterproof jacket may also be mand
 atory if the organisers decide the weather requires one\, so bring one alo
 ng just in case.\n\nDogs are permitted in the carpark and on the course\, 
 however common sense control of dogs applies.\n\n\nParking\nPlease use Cen
 tral Car Park beside Castle Mall. From here\, allow 5 min walk to get to t
 he Registration/Start. Cross the main road using the pedestrian crossing (
 with lights) and follow red/white tape to registration/start at carpark on
  far side of Clotworthy House.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNeed a ride to the

 only).\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nToilets and other facilities\nClotworthy h
 ouse toilets only open until 5pm. Other toilets can be found at the Antrim
  Forum and Antrim Marina\, Lough Road. The Marina also has a restaurant\, 
 coffee shop and a great children's play area.\n\n\n
