 Orienteering or of another orienteering federation are not covered by Brit
 ish Orienteering’s public liability insurance. You are welcome to enter 
 this event\, but please understand that you are taking part at your own ri
 sk. For example\, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the publi
 c or damage property during the event\, you would not be covered. Members 
 of Orienteering Ireland are covered by British Orienteering insurance. \n

  appropriate to the open mountain terrain.\n🟡 Yellow – km + m climb 
 – along paths with more route choice decisions. Appropriate for newcomer
 s and younger juniors with some experience. Not suitable for buggies.\n
 🟠 Orange – km + m climb – skills needed to navigate away from paths
  and more route choice decisions\, some compass skills are expected. Aimed
  at novice adults and improving juniors.\n🔴 Red – km + m climb [Leins
 ter League ONLY] – skills needed to navigate away from paths and more ro
 ute choice decisions\, some compass skills are expected. Aimed at mountain
  runners\, novice adults and improving juniors.\n🟢 Light Green – km +
  m climb – this course requires confident map reading and compass skills
 .\n🟢 Short Green – km + m climb – this course is set at the highest
  technical difficulty but shorter to attract those who may struggle with a
  longer physical course.\n🟢 Green – km + m climb – technically and 
 reasonably physically demanding course.\n🔵 Blue – km + m climb – te
 chnically and physically demanding course.\n🟤 Brown – km + m climb 
 – technical and very physically demanding course.\n\n 	All maps will be 
 A4 and 1:10\,000 with 5m contours (TBC).\n 	All controls will be SI Air en
 abled\, except Start and Finish which must be punched (TBC).\n\nNOTE: This
  event is also doubling up as the LVO Club Champs. If you wish to be deeme
 d competitive within the Championships you must enter the correct course c
 olour relating to your AgeClass. It will be assumed that you are running y
 our default AgeClass. Participants who choose to ‘run up’ a course or 
 class MUST THEN DECLARE which AgeClass they are competing in by emailing t
 he event organiser no later than midnight on Wednesday 17 June.   Partic
 ipants can also choose to ‘run down’ and\, although they will not be d
 eemed competitive for the Champs\, their result will still be counted in t

  the coveted gold and silver shoes are awarded\, given to the male and fem
 ale athletes who post the fastest times from the final control to the fini
 sh line on the light green course and above.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFirs
 t Aid and Safety\nThere will be a first aid and a qualified first aider av
 ailable at registration. Registration is also a safe place for lost childr
 en to wait.\n\nPlease do not come to the event if you are unwell.\n\nPleas
 e bring and carry any medication you might need\, especially inhalers and 
 EpiPen’s.\n\nIf you come across an injured or ill person\, please stop\,
  help and get further help. There will likely be qualified first aiders on
  the course who can stop to provide support.\n\nAll participants must retu
 rn to download\, whether they complete the course or not. This is to accou
 nt for all competitors\, ensuring everyone’s safe return.\n\nCourses wil
 l close and controls collected in at 3pm sharp. If you are still out on th
 e course at this time return to finish and download immediately.\n\n\nKit 
 requirements\nFull body cover is mandatory.\n\nA whistle (emergency alert 
 is 6 loud blasts per minute) is mandatory.\n\nA waterproof jacket may also
  be mandatory if the organisers decide the weather requires one\, so bring
  one along just in case.\n\n\nParking\nTBC\n\n\nToilets\nThe closest publi
 c toilets are located in Ballynahinch and Castlewellan.\n\n\nDogs\nNO DOGS
