ns in Britain and Ireland can change dramatically with little warning. Any
one failing the kit-check at registration will not be allowed to start. Th
e Organiser's decision will be final and there will be no recompense for t
his decision.\nDogs\nDogs are not allowed on the walk\, since large sectio

he seven summits which must be visited in the order stipulated below plus
the marshaled checkpoints (denoted MCP below). This challenge walk is not
guided or way-marked along the route. Navigational skills will be required
\, especially if weather conditions are poor so participants must have the
ability and experience to use both map and compass. Navigation using only
a smartphone app is not allowed.\n\nPlease do not walk on the Mourne Wall

to the bottom left corner of a 10m square.\nCut-off times &amp\; Retiremen
 ts\nThere are three checkpoints with cut-off times: Meelmore-Meelbeg Col\,
Ben Crom Dam and Lamagan-Binnian Col. These are to ensure walkers complet
e the route before dark and that our marshals can also safely get off the
mountains. Walkers missing a cut-off will be retired from the event and sh
ould return directly to Donard Park. N.B. Retirements are marked RTD on th
e results with no times and no certificate issued.\n\nN.B. Controls in eac
h section of the course will be taken in shortly after the cut-off time at
the last control.\nTime and Distance\nIf you look at previous years' resu
lts you will note that the Ben Crom dam is consistently half way around th
e course for most people\, regardless of their finish time. Slow or leisur
ely walkers take up to 14hrs to finish the course. If you fall into this c
ategory you need to be starting no later than 7am in order to reach the da
m by the 2pm cut-off. The Meels Col is also consistently 2/5ths of the cir
cuit and the Binnian-Lamagan saddle 3/4trs  – so you should do the math
s for your own particular walking pace and work out a start time.\n\nRetir
ees at any stage of the event must report as soon as possible either to a
marshal or via text to base and return directly to Donard Park to return t
heir dibbers and register that they are safely off the mountains.\n\nFinis
h\nDownload At the finish and hand in your dibber. You will receive a prin
t out of your progress around the route with split times for each summit p
lus a certificate of completion. Finish times will be published online.\nF
acilities\n\n Refreshments will be available at the finish from 2pm. Plea
se state any dietary preferences on the entry form.\n Showers TBC\n Toil
ets are available in Shimna College.\n\n\nDisclaimer\nHillwalking is an ac
tivity with a danger of personal injury\, death and loss of or damage to p
roperty. Participants must be be over 18 years old and must be aware of a
