  Park Main Carpark\n\n\nEvent Format\n\nLagan Valley Orienteers invites yo
 u to a 6-week training course for 9s and over who want to learn how to nav
 igate and orienteer!\n\n\nThis course will run weekly from Sunday 10 May t
 o Sunday 14 June. Places are limited\, so please only sign up if your chil
 d will be able to attend the majority of the sessions.\n\nAll children mus
 t be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the coaching\, up to a ma
 ximum of four children per adult. This is not a drop-off service!\n\nSess
 ions are primarily for children who are aged 9 upwards. If children are yo
 unger\, please check out Running Wild or get in contact with us (email jun
 iors_families@lvo.org.uk) to find out other exciting orienteering opportun
 ities for them.\n\nWe'll meet at either at Tollymore Forest Park's Main Ca

 in Summary\nTollymore forest is a great place to discover the sport of ori
 enteering. It has a network of paths and tracks to help navigate\, as well
  as runnable forest with a variety of features. The forest is popular with
  hikers\, runners\, dog walkers\, horse riders and mountain bikers\, so ta

 \nThis week we are learning about Attack Points. A great 4-minute video to
  watch can be found here featuring World Champion Megan Carter-Davis. Zn a
 ttack point is a distinct\, easily identifiable feature near a control (su
 ch as a path junction\, large boulder or stream bend) that a competitor us
 es as a final navigation point before locating the control precisely. By n
 avigating accurately to the attack point first\, the orienteer reduces unc
 ertainty and executes a short\, controlled approach\, often on a precise b
 earing\, to the control location.\n\n\nKit requirements\n🧥👖 Full bod
 y cover is mandatory. If the weather is cold or wet – a waterproof jacke
 t will be mandatory. As well as times of exercise there will be periods of
  coaching when you will be stationary\, so layer up – bring along an ext
 ra jumper\, a hat and gloves to keep comfortable. There is likely to be a 
 bag drop off point with a coach present or close by. NOTE: the club or coa
 ch is not responsible for the safe keeping of the kit\, it is dropped off 
 at your own risk\, so please leave any valuables in the car.\n\nAll should
  carry whistles.\n\nBring a compass if you have one.\n\n\nParking\n£5 at 
 entrance\; free if you have annual pass (cost of £40).\n\n\n\nToilets\nBe
