Event Description

Spring Cup 3 takes us to Divis Mountain, with the open terrain offering a very different orienteering challenge after recent outings at Gosford and Drum Manor.

There is a course to suit you, whether you are an experienced orienteer or this is your first time trying the sport. The Yellow course is a great choice for children or beginner families. For something a bit longer and more challenging you could try the Orange course. Go for Green if you are more experienced or want a tougher challenge, but remember the navigation is tricky and it might take you a lot longer than you expect!

Green course 5.0 km 110m climb.

Orange course 3.1 km 120m climb.

Yellow course 2.3 km 125m climb.

Please note there is a 1.5km walk to the start.

Divis offers wonderful views in all directions. To put it another way, it is barren, marshy and there is no shelter from the elements, so please dress appropriately. Please carry a whistle. If conditions are severe you will be required to wear a waterproof coat.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead.

The National Trust has generously given us access to the mountain, car park and toilets free of charge but a donation of £2 per car from non NT members would be appreciated. You can leave your donation at the café adjacent to Registration in the top car park, and why not buy yourself some tea and buns while you’re there!

Parking at the top car park is limited. Additional parking, which is also free, is available at the entrance, some 700m from Registration.

Entry Fees

Member Non-Member
Senior (aged 21 or over) £7 £9
Junior or Student £3 £4
Maximum charge for a family* £17 £22

*If you are entering a family and it comes to more than £17 (£22 for non-member) then please contact entries@lvo.org.uk after you have paid for the individual Senior, or Junior/Student entries and we will arrange refund of the difference. Parents accompanying children go free.

If you have your own SI timing card (fancyspeak for dibber), please go straight to the Start. You can hire a dibber for free at Registration but I’m afraid we’ll charge you the replacement cost of £30 if you lose it!

Entries are open now and close Thursday 7th April at 23.00.
