 re active\, more confident\, and find friends to run about with in forests
  and up mountains? Would like to learn a new outdoor sport that all the fa
 mily can take part in?\n\nTaking place on the first Sunday of the month\, 
 LVO invites you to Running Wild\, a chance for like-minded families to lea
 rn about orienteering together and find out about how to get involved in o
 ur exciting club and sport.\n\nSessions are for children in Primary 4 and 
 above. If children are younger\, please get in contact with us (email secr
 etary@lvo.org.uk) to find out other exciting orienteering opportunities fo
 r them.\n\nAll children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration o
 f the coaching\, up to a maximum of four children per adult. This is not a
  drop-off service.\n\n\nEntry/Registration\nRegister HERE via this online 
 form.\n\n\nRegistration closes\nMidnight\, Thursday 29th October 2026.\n\n
 \nStart Times\nArrive 1.50pm for registration. Coaching takes place 2pm to
  3pm\, with a chance to catch up with coaches and friends over tea/coffee/
 squash until 3.30pm.\n\n\nPrice\n💰 Training is free for members of LVO\
 , NIOA and Orienteering Ireland.\n\n💰 Non-members are also welcome to a
 ttend any of our activities and events\, but there is a £3 fee per child 
 for this activity\, up to a max of £10 per family\, payable on the day. A
 fter attending three orienteering events\, people must join a club so they
  are insured. For 2026 membership\, JOIN HERE via the British Orienteering
  website\, selecting LVO as your club.\n\n\nTerrain Summary\nGosford Fores
 t is a great place to discover the sport of orienteering. It has a network
  of paths and tracks to help navigate\, as well as runnable forest with a 
 variety of features. The forest is popular with hikers\, runners\, dog wal
 kers\, horse riders and mountain bikers\, so take care and treat others wi

 👦 Groups will be organised into children with the same level of technic
 al ability\, each having a dedicated coach.\n\n\nKit requirements\n🧥
 👖 Full body cover is mandatory. If the weather is cold or wet – a wat
 erproof jacket will be mandatory. As well as times of exercise there will 
 be periods of coaching when you will be stationary\, so layer up – bring
  along an extra jumper\, a hat and gloves to keep comfortable. There is li
 kely to be a bag drop off point with a coach present or close by. NOTE: th
 e club or coach is not responsible for the safe keeping of the kit\, it is
  dropped off at your own risk\, so please leave any valuables in the car. 
 All should carry whistles.\n\n\nParking\n£5 at entrance\; free if you hav
