Yes folks – another brand new map to challenge us! T he competition area is adjacent to the City Park (Craigavon Lakes) with pa rking and registration at the Watersports Centre (BT64 1AS\, ‘Lakes Roun dabout’ on the A3 Lurgan to Portadown Road).\n\nYou don’t need to be a n expert to compete! There are courses for everyone. Come along and try yo ur hand at an Urban Sprint event.\n\nThe competition takes place in modern housing estates with pedestrian and cycle paths\, alleyways\, and open sp aces. Most of the hard surfaces are tarmacadam but many of the paths are m ade of paving slabs that can become treacherous when wet. Most of the cour ses are on hard surfaces but some routes could be over open grassland. Sel ect your footwear carefully.\n\nThe event is a ‘double header’\, with the morning Prologue determining your start position in the main event in the afternoon. If you are unable to compete in the morning\, you can still get a run by entering the Non Competitive Sprint\, which will run concurr ently with the main event but on a separate course.\n\nAlso taking place o n Saturday is an IOA Sprint Selection Race at 14:00\, just before our main event. Come along and see how an urban sprint course should be run!
