n\n\nTerrain Summary\nIf you have visited Glenariff you are likely to have
walked one of the four Forest Trails\, perhaps following the Glenariff or
Inver River and paused at the famous waterfalls or cliffs or looked at th
e spectacular views down the Glens. But you are not likely to have gone in
to the main body of the forest.\n\nCourses are at the lower end of the len
gths as Glenariff is likely to prove physically demanding.\n\nThere are a
few paths made by mountainbikes\, and 2 gravel forest roads but other wise
the forest is free of paths.\n\nThe forest is mainly tall coniferous tree
s with the forest floor being ridges covered in deep moss with minor water
channels.\n\nThere are large windblown areas which are mapped. But the fo
rest also has multiple unmapped single fallen trees which are negotiable.\
n\nThe map has numerous parallel rides in forest blocks which are not mapp
ed. Major rides separating blocks of forest are mapped. (At registration w
e will have a sample of the map that we are using and a sample map with ri
des to illustrate the difference).\n\nSignificant features are mapped in a
ny given part of the forest but this does result in some variation across
 the map.\n\n\nPrevious Maps/Routegadget\nThere are no previous courses / m
aps available.\n\nGlenariff was previously mapped in 2004 by Deeside Orien
teering and used in 2004 and 2005 but has had a complete new survey done b
y Mark Stephens for 2024\n\nControl descriptions will be printed on the ma
 p. Loose control descriptions will be available at the Start. TD1-3 course
 s will be both pictorial and textual\n\n\nCourse Notes\n⚪ White – 1.1
