You must bring photographic identification for all registered people\, other than those under 16 years of age. No online registration or no photographic identification means no getting in and a long drive home.\n\n\nPrice\n\nSaturday is a double-head er day\, with the NICS Event in the morning and the NI Night Champs in the evening. Sociable group / family fee where all are going round a course together – entry fee is per required number of map s i.e. one entry = one map.\n\n\nTerrain Summary\nThe terrain consists of forested areas and sand dunes with uneven ground\, thickets\, brambles/net tles\, some fences\, pits and steep sloped areas. There are several fences . The safety bearing is due North. This will take you back to the internal access road bounding the area and from there you can locate the car park. Extreme care should be taken in when crossing stiles.\n\nThe area also co ntains range debris\, some of which may be unexploded ordnance\, and range infrastructure. Under no circumstances touch\, kick or pick up any items lying on the ground. Do not engage with or play on range infrastructure\, which includes open trenches on the ranges and target pits / mechanisms bo th on the ranges and in the competition area. Please ensure children are a lways supervised closely when not running.\n\nThe area has livestock\, so ticks are present\, with the risk of Lyme’s Disease. Please check for ti cks on completion of your run.\n\nThe sand dunes lead to a beach and the s ea. The coaching area is bounded by fences to the south\, preventing accid ental access.\n\n\nPrevious Maps/Routegadget\nTyrella was last used for th e NICS and JIRCS in 2022. Ap propriate for newcomers and younger juniors with some experience.\n🟠 Or ange – 3.2km + 50m climb – skills needed to navigate away from paths a nd more route choice decisions\, some compass skills are expected. Aimed a t novice adults and improving juniors.\n🔴 Red - 4.1km + 80m climb - sui table for runners wanting simpler navigation over a longer distance. (Lein ster League Only - not competitive for NICS)\n🟢 Light Green – 3.2km + 115m climb – this course requires confident map reading and compass ski lls.\n🟢 Short Green – 2.9km + 110m climb – this course is set at th e highest technical difficulty but shorter to attract those who may strugg le with a longer physical course.\n🟢 Green – 4.0km + 125m climb – t echnically and reasonably physically demanding course.\n🔵 Blue – 6.2k m + 225m climb – technically and physically demanding course.\n🟤 Brow n – 7.1km + 315m climb – technical and very physically demanding cours e.\n\n\nFirst Aid and Safety\nThere will be a first aid and a qualified fi rst aider available at registration. Registration is also a safe place for lost children to wait.\n\nPlease do not come to the event if you are unwe ll.\n\nPlease bring and carry any medication you might need\, especially i nhalers and EpiPen’s.\n\nIf you come across an injured or ill person\, p lease stop\, help and get further help. There will likely be qualified fir st aiders on the course who can stop to provide support.\n\nAll participan ts must return to download\, whether they complete the course or not. This is to account for all competitors\, ensuring everyone’s safe return.\n\ nCourses will close and controls collected in at 3pm sharp.
