DESCRIPTION:LVO are hosting the fourth event of the NI Colour Series in the
  upper reaches of Kilbroney forest and on the open hill above.\n\nThere wi
 ll be the usual coloured courses to suit all abilities and ages\, newcomer
 s and seasoned members alike.\n\nCar Parking\n\nThe Upper 'Cloughmore' car
  park should be used (GR J195174) where the Mobile Orienteering Office (MO
 O) will be situated for information/download. If you find yourselves sitti
 ng in a carpark with a playground / Synge and Byrne café / Cloughmore Cen
 tre\, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG CARPARK! You need to keep driving up the hill t
 hrough the forest\, following the one-way signs for ‘Forest Drive’ to

  parking is Free.\n\nToilets\n\nPublic toilet facilities are available at 
 the bottom car park.\n\nCourses\n\nUnfortunately this area does not suppor
 t a White course.\n\nYellow (Technical Difficulty 2) and Orange (TD3) cour
 ses will start and finish near the upper car park. These courses require m
 ap reading but not compass skills\; Light Green courses and above will req
 uire good confident navigation skills using a map and compass.\n\nLight Gr
 een\, Short Green\, Green\, Blue and Brown (TD4-5) courses will have a sep
 arate start - allow for a 20-25 min walk up the zig-zags from the car park

 urses\, allow for a 20-25 min walk from car park to start. \n\nCourses cl
 ose at 15.00.\n\nTerrain\n\nThis is a great area for orienteering over var
 ied terrain\, open hill and forest.\n\nAs fairly high up - on a good day y
 ou will enjoy great views of the southern Mournes\, down over Carlingford 
 Lough and across to the Cooley Peninsula\; but on a bad day you could see 
 nought.\n\nDue to the changeable nature of open mountain weather\, all par
 ticipants will be required to bring a whistle and a waterproof jacket and 
 wear full leg cover.\n\nBlue and Brown courses in particular will be physi
 cally demanding and if the mist comes in\, also very technical - you have 
 been warned!\n\nThe Yellow and Orange courses will not venture up in the o
 pen hill. There is an extensive path network in the area of these courses\
 , the main paths are marked but not some of the more recent smaller paths 
 made by walkers and bikers.\n\nWater\n\nPlease bring your own water and ma
