 the left and behind the entry lodge\, where the MOO will be visible.   T
 he start will be about 150m away beyond the  big house and courtyard\, (s
 o that toilets will be available on the way!).  The finish will be near t
 he big house\, and please remember to download at the MOO before you retur

 arge is for two seniors and one junior. Additional juniors go free.\nPleas
 e note: Participants who are not members of British Orienteering or of ano
 ther orienteering federation are not covered by British Orienteering’s p
 ublic liability insurance. You are welcome to enter this event\, but pleas
 e understand that you are taking part at your own risk. For example\, if y
 ou were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property d
 uring the event\, you would not be covered. Members of Orienteering Irelan
 d are covered by British Orienteering insurance. \n\n\n\nTerrain Summary\
 nWhere will your course take you? Maybe you’ll be hunting controls in th
 e sheltered woodland alongside the local wildlife or through the sunken ga
 rdens as the spring flowers come into season! You might even take in the f
 antasy world of castles and dragons as hit-series Game of Thrones was film
 ed on these very grounds… The terrain is mostly parkland with some fores
 t crossed by several paths.\n\n\nPrevious Maps/Routegadget\nThe last event

 n\n\nCourse Notes\n🟡 Yellow – 2.4 km + 50 m climb – along paths wit
 h more route choice decisions. Appropriate for newcomers and younger junio
 rs with some experience.\n🟠 Orange – 2.6 km + 75 m climb – skills n
 eeded to navigate away from paths and more route choice decisions\, some c
 ompass skills are expected. Aimed at novice adults and improving juniors.\
 n🟢 Short Green – 3.8 km + 85 m climb – technically demanding course
  that is less physical.\n🔵 Short Blue – 5.0 km + 150 m climb – tech
 nically and physically demanding course.\n\n\nFirst Aid and Safety\nWatch 
 out for other park users.\n\nThere will be a first aid and a qualified fir
 st aider available at registration. Registration is also a safe place for 
 lost children to wait.\n\nPlease do not come to the event if you are unwel
 l. Please bring and carry any medication you might need\, especially inhal
 ers and EpiPen’s.\n\nIf you come across an injured or ill person\, pleas
 e stop\, help and get further help. There will likely be qualified first a
 iders on the course who can stop to provide support.\n\nAll participants m
 ust return to download\, whether they complete the course or not. This is 
 to account for all competitors\, ensuring everyone’s safe return.\n\nCou
 rses will close and controls collected in at 3pm sharp. If you are still o
 ut on the course at this time return to finish and download immediately.\n
 \n\nKit requirements\nFull body cover is mandatory.\n\nA whistle (emergenc
 y alert is 6 loud blasts per minute) is mandatory.\n\nA waterproof jacket 
 may also be mandatory if the organisers decide the weather requires one\, 
 so bring one along just in case.\n\n\nParking\nOn entering the Castle Ward
  estate continue on the main road until you reach the National Trust kiosk
 . The parking is the hard standing area in on the left. The MOO will be pa
 rked in there if you need to go to registration. Toilets can be found in t
 he courtyard alongside the tearoom\, book shop and National Trust Shop!\n\
 nDogs are permitted but must be on a lead – apart from in the dog exerci
 se area which is adjacent to where we will be parking.\n\nWe have been ver
 y fortunate to agree a reduced National Trust entry fee for this event. Th
 is is available to LVO members and NIOA members at the reduced rate of £6
 .00 per adult person and £3.00 per under 18s. You will need to provide e
 vidence of Club/British Orienteering Membership e.g. your membership card
  or renewal letter/email to avail of this discount. (The standard rate is
  £15 per adult and £7.50 per child). NT members will not be charged\, bu
 t please ensure you swipe your membership card.\n\n\nToilets\nToilets can 
 be found in the courtyard alongside the tearoom\, book shop and National T
 rust shop. This is just a couple of minutes away.\n\n\n
